We don’t know if you’ve noticed, but we’re just a little bit excited (read: haven’t been able to sleep for a week) about the forthcoming fashion extravaganza that is the 2013 British Fashion Awards. Not only are there rumours circulating about Cara Delevingne playing the drums, but the latest update is that Marc Jacobs himself will be hosting a stupendous Playboy after-party for his good pal Kate Moss.
Once the evening wraps up at the London Coliseum on Monday the elegantly clad fashpack will make their way to the sumptous Mayfair venue that is London’s very own Playboy Club to party the night away. On December 13 Kate Moss’ very first Playboy cover will be unveiled before hitting the shelves (and probably leaving the shelves again in seconds).
The poshest tiara in showbiz is now on display at Bonhams. Yes ladies, its Victoria Beckham’s fit-for-a-princess fairytale gold and diamond crown and it will go on sale on 5th December…. just in time for Christmas!
East of Paris is the (very elegantly named) tiara that Victoria Adams wore when she tied the knot with David ‘Goldenballs’ Beckham 14 years ago and this legendary piece of Beckham history will be sold at Bonhams on New Bond Street next week. So if your boyfriend has a spare £18,000-£25,000 (estimated value – chances are it will go for A LOT more) lying around, get this on your wish list. After all, no girl’s Christmas is complete without a tiara or two.
Whilst the fashion team are flying around town picking out Christmas presents for their loved ones, AKA themselves, the Grazia gang have been making sure they take very stylish steps with very considered wardrobe choices.
This week Shopping Editor, Lily Russo wore one of the must have items of the moment, the YMC skeleton embroidered dress. Teamed, naturally, with a camo bag for extra posing pow! Senior Fashion Assistant, Sophie Bew wore her hero piece of the season and much lusted after item in the office, the Sandro parka. Elsewhere Fashion Intern, Sophie Hooper went all sports luxe with added textured and Fashion Asssistant, Josh Newis-Smith took a trip down the time tunnel to the 1970s with his vintage find from the team’s recent trip to New York.
‘Tis the season to selfie. Or so says fashion emporium Browns AND the English Dictionary since the word was officially entered this month.
The selfie is self-indulgent (the clue is in the name), somewhat self-promotional and not to mention the harbinger of all modern-day envy (anyone else suffer from insta-envy?). But clearly these qualities don’t deter us, or the 100 million other users as we scroll through health-ie after foot-selfie after FOOD-selfie.
And lo – we were happy when we stumbled upon Browns’ ‘Designer Selfies’ that combine many of Grazia HQ’s favourite things: their rosta of ultra-cool designers + shopping (each designer has picked their one Christmas wishlist item – and they’re not all their own designs – good job on the self-restraint guys!) + CHRISTMAS (including antler insta-stickers, santa hats and a whole lot of glitter).
When we first heard that L’Wren Scott would be creating a capsule collection for Banana Republic we almost squealed with joy… an affordable tap into L’Wren Scott’s supremely exclusive global fashion world! What’s not to like? And now we’ve seen the full collection, we can hardly refrain ourselves from camping outside the store in wait until the (oh so soon!) December 6th launch date.
Key high street brand Banana Republic who launched their collaboration with Issa back in August have seriously upped the ante with their foray into L’Wren Scott territory. Rocker Mick Jagger’s girlfriend’s designs are a fast favourite on red carpets the world over, but for the collaboration the usually pricey and exclusive pieces by the designer have been translated to casual daytime looks of beautiful prints, uptown blazers and pussy-bow blouses as well as BR’s trademark luscious leather accessories. But we wouldn’t expect any less from the former Hollywood stylist. We love.
Not every day is a rainy one and there’s still plenty of potential for open-toe shoes, so take advantage of the new wave of sandals arriving on shop floors. You can also just as easily rework old favourites with the simple addition of statement socks or coordinated hosiery. Steer clear of black opaques with black shoes to make this a purposeful sandal styling move, and not an early morning mishap.
