Kate Moss and Vivienne Westwood’s silks
23/07/2012 UPDATE Okay, so it’s not *quite* what we had in mind but the jockey outfit Kate Moss designed for Rosemary Ferguson has just been revealed! And it’s err, bright pink. Adorned with a black flash of lightening across the breast and matching logo on the sleeves, it rather reminds us of a licorice allsort, you know? A tres chic licorice allsort, of course. Plus, with that matching hat, it doesn’t exactly scream Mossy cool, does it?
Meanwhile, Vivienne Westwood’s creation for Edie Campbell has also been unveiled [above right] and is also gorgeously bright with splashes of lime green, purples and pinks. Amaze! That’ll ensure the ladies stand out on the race course. Find the full list of names taking part in the charity race, and the ladies who will be dressing them, below…

16/07/2012 Kate Moss Designs Jockey Outfit! No, Seriously.
How we’re picturing Kate Moss’ racing gear
First she bagged a part in George Michael’s music video, then we heard she’ll be stealing the spotlight at the Olympics closing ceremony and now it’s been confirmed Kate Moss has turned her fair hand to designing jockey outfits! We kid you not.
The talented 38-year-old has created a set of silks for this year’s Glorious Goodwood when her model pal Rosemary Ferguson will compete in the second Magnolia Cup race — and although we haven’t seen the full outfit (yet), that hasn’t stopped Grazia Daily from dreaming up a Moss-tastic design. We’re picturing skin-tight snakeskin jodhpurs in a Balmain stylee, a tres chic fitted jacket in black over a print-clashing silk shirt plus black knee-high boots. Hot!
Edie Campbell competing in 2011
As well as Rosemary, Brit model Edie Campbell, Sara Cox, jewellery designer Phillippa Holland and Sunday Girl Jade Williams will be mounting their horses when the charity race takes place on Ladies Day, August 2. Horse-mad Edie is the current Magnolia Cup champion after winning the race last year so we’re delighted to hear she’ll be back to defend her title.
‘I’m probably mad to be returning as I can’t do any better than last year but I couldn’t resist a chance to be involved in such a fun experience that raises so much money for charity,’ Edie said. We say: let the betting commence!
Bella Freud and Jasmine Guinness’ designs
And Mossy’s not the only one who’s knocked up a jockey-perfect outfit. While Rosemary will be dressed up her supermodel friend, the other celebrity riders will be decked out in bespoke racing silk from Vivienne Westwood, Amanda Wakeley, Sadie Frost, Luella Bartley and Pearl Lowe (phew!). Bella Freud has confirmed that she will be dressing Trish Simonon while Jasmine Guinness has expressed her excitement at seeing her jockey designs in action.
‘I love designing colours for the Ladies Day race,’ Jasmine said. ‘As a kid I loved going to the races in Ireland and a great part of the colour and excitement is the colours the jockeys wear. It is a designers dream!’
Ooh, we cannee wait to see the stars battling it out on the track in their racing finery and here’s hoping Kate will pop by to place a bet…
