Rossellini in the Bulgari campaign, coming out next month
We fell in love with Ingrid Bergman’s beautiful daughter Isabella Rossellini back when we found a dusty old copy of Blue Velvet in our parent’s house on VHS. And then there was Death Becomes Her, the most memorable film we watched in the early nineties. Since then the actress and filmmaker has had an impressive career both on and off screen, reaching what we reckon must be a serious high point this season as she is unveiled as the star of Bulgari’s autumn winter advertising campaign.
What a catch for the Italian luxury accessories, lifestyle and fine jewellery brand! A sneaky peek of the campaign shot by Annie Leibovitz has been released, and shows Rosselini elegantly propped up in the photographer’s studio on a chic capitonné couch wearing a pair of red pumps and holding a red calf-leather tote with a red enamel closure and a rock crystal twist lock. Trés chic indeed.
Leibovitz’s portrait of Rossellini with David Lynch in 1986
Leibovitz has cleverly recreated the portrait she took of Rossellini with Blue Velvet director David Lynch back in 1986 (wow that makes us feel young). In that original photo, the actress was photographed wears a dark sleeveless dress with one shoulder strap down…just like in this Bulgari campaign. We love that Annie reworks this iconic photograph and make it on-brand for Bulgari.
