Another weekend, another Royal pageant! But what to wear for Trooping The Colour – aka the Queen’s official birthday? Well if you’re The Duchess of Cambridge the dress code is: an embellished silver-grey Erdem dress and a matching Jane Corbett hat. Kate travelled to Horseguards Parade sitting next to the Duchess of Cornwall, who was wearing a pastel blue jacket and pearl choker. The royal women were accompanied in their coach by Prince Harry looking rather dapper in his military uniform.

As for the birthday girl herself? The Queen opted for the buttercup yellow Angela Kelly number she first wore for the Royal Wedding last year. It’s not the first time Her Majesty has repeated the outfit. She also pulled out the dress and hat for an official trip to Australia earlier this year. Has someone been giving Kate re-wearing tips?

The Queen celebrated her actual birthday on April 21, when she turned 86, but today’s ceremony marked her official birthday, which is always in June. And as the Royal Family gathered on the balcony it was clear that all her relatives had turned up for the happy occasion. The Duke of York’s daughters Beatrice and Eugenie wore co-ordinating purple hues to watch the flypast over Buckingham Palace, as Kate bent down to chat to Lady Louise Windsor, the Countess of Wessex’s daughter and one of Kate’s bridesmaids.

Today’s engagement falls hot on the heels of last night’s theatre trip for Kate. As part of her role as Patron of The Art Room charity, Kate took 150 children to a performance of The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe in Kensington Gardens. For that, the Duchess’s wardrobe was more low-key – a Zara dress, Whistles jacket accessorised with a pair of Prada heels and an Anya Hindmarch bag. Nice!

It’s a big weekend for Kate. Tomorrow she takes on another solo engagment with her ARK charity, no doubt pulling on wellies and a Barbour to help kids make outdoor camping shelters. And on Monday she watches Prince William be made a Royal Knight of The Thistle in Scotland. And, as usual, Grazia Daily will be watching Kate’s every fashion move…
