Kate Middleton Wears White Floor-Sweeping Gown By Roland Mouret at Claridge’s Hotel
After a day of Met Ball marvels, we thought we were all gowned out for one day then Kate Middleton hit the red carpet and WOW. There’s no way we could let this beauty slip through our fashion net.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge arrived at Claridge’s Hotel this evening for a black tie dinner where a be-suited Prince William gave a speech to the prestigious Thirty Club. Kate looked ruddy wonderful decked out in a floor-length white gown from RM by Roland Mouret with long sleeves and a thigh-high slit to showcase one very slender leg.
And have a scroll through the gallery above to see those twinkling strappy sandals! Oh yes, fash fans, the nude court shoes are gone and in their place are a pair of Princessy Jimmy Choo shoes costing £450 – did Nicholas Kirkwood’s words hit home we wonder? Teamed with a matching metallic clutch and glistening drop earrings, the result is far blingier than we’ve seen from 30-year-old Kate in quite some time. But rather than going J-Lo flashy, K-Middy wisely kept the rest of her look minimal and sophisticated in a Gwyneth-Paltrow-at-the-Oscars stylee with those enviably glossy brunette locks flowing free.
Kate fans were quick to identify this sleek sheath dress as Monsieur Mouret’s Lombarde design from his RM collection. Statuesque stars including Amber Valetta and Carla Bruni have previously worn the frock – the now ex-First French Lady chose the chic creation in a deep teal tone for a state dinner at the Elysee Palace in March 2010.
And this isn’t the first time our Middleton has chosen to wear a touch of the Mouret either. She wore the London-based designer’s navy Manon dress for the royal trip to Canada in June last year.
So is Kate’s gown worthy of a princess? That’s for you to decide. In the meantime, don’t forget to have a gander at Grazia‘s Kate Middleton Look Book.
